Abstract

The digital processing of patients’ data represents a challenge not only for patients and medical staff, but there are also major challenges related to finding hardware and software solutions that allow transmission of data to the hospital informational system. The new European data safety regulation makes these aspects even more complicated. The whole constellation leads to the development of local “creative solutions” which will be discussed here along with aspects that should be taken into account in the future by computer scientists, by software and hardware developing companies, as well as by hospital management in order to keep pace with the digitalization process.
